What Is This?
This is a tabletop roleplaying game — a collaborative storytelling game played with friends, dice, and a Game Master (GM) who runs the world. There’s no board, no app, and no winning or losing in the traditional sense. You play a character, the GM describes what’s happening, and together you figure out what happens next.
Think of it like an interactive movie where the players are the main characters and nobody has read the script.
This campaign uses Nimble TTRPG — a fast, beginner-friendly system where you won’t spend half the session flipping through rulebooks. Attacks cut straight to damage, the rules are light enough to learn as you go, and the GM handles the complexity so you can focus on playing. Full details at nimblerpg.com.
The Setting
The world is cold. Not just winter-cold, but a deep, arcane, soul-chilling ice that put civilization in the fridge, permanently. You are a member of the Guild, a group of brave (or desperate) heroes who venture into the frozen wastes to recover magical relics and fuel the ancient The Hearth Engine - the only thing keeping the town of Hearth alive.
What an average session looks like:
- Preparation: Start in Hearth, pick a Relic Site from the Mission Hub, and gear up with rations and supplies.
- The Journey: Travel across the frozen wastes using Wilderness Turns (days of travel).
- The Relic Site: Explore ruined laboratories, ancient shrines, dungeons, and abandoned vaults. Locate and extract the magical artifacts you came for.
- The Return: Bring the loot back to Hearth.
- Fueling the Flame: Sacrifice at least one relic to the Hearth Engine. The more you burn, the more the Guild can grow.
New Players — Start Here
Step 1 — Join the Discord
The Discord is where sessions are scheduled, questions get answered, and everything important is pinned. Join here.
Step 2 — Create Your Character
Head to Character Creation and work through both pages: Thinking Up Your Character first, then Character Sheet Setup to build your sheet on Nimbound. Send your answers to the GM’s questions to Sean when you’re done.
Step 3 — Schedule Your First Session
Once your character is ready, message the right Discord chat or Sean directly to get on the calendar. Your first session will include a short one-on-one opening scene introducing your character, and then start with an easier “entry” mission before you become a full-fledged Guild Member.
